Following is one of the Biographies and Stories which where gathered by Charles Sumner McKamy in the 1950s for publication in a Crawford County History Book. Unfortunately he passed away before the book was published.

John D. Morehead was born in Ohio and educated in Williamsburg Seminary, in which school he afterwards was an instructor for three years, he then studied and finished a course in pharmacy which he followed for teo (sic) years in Cincinnati, afterwards leaving there and engaging in the same business in Shoals, Ind., going from there to Alanta (sic), Ga. where he wrote a book entitled the "Sunny South", where he was admitted to the practice of law and after leaving there he was interested in the sale of real estate in Florida and permanently located in Robinson in 1897 and started a merchantile (sic) business. He opperated (sic) his business under the name of the "When" clothing store on the west side of the public square. He had in his employ Peter Walker, Jr. and they handled the first Panama hand made hats ever sold in Robinson and other unusual merchandise such as high grade valises, trunks, etc.

He passed away in Robinson in the year ___.
