Following is one of the Biographies and Stories which where gathered by Charles Sumner McKamy in the 1950s for publication in a Crawford County History Book. Unfortunately he passed away before the book was published.

Fred W. Lyon was born in Delphi, Ind. on Oct. 12, 1868 and in 1887 he went to Terre Haute where he learned the bakery business coming to Robinson in 1889 where he started a bakery, confectionary and restaurant on the east side of the public square. In 1893 he was compelled to find a larger place of business when he moved to the northwest corner of the public square (where the Ted Meskimen Furniture Store is located next to the Bank). He was married to Miss Jewel Newlin of Robinson in 1893 where they were blessed with one son, Joe, who is married and now lives at ___.

Mrs. Lyon was a great asset in their business, being one of the best cooks and with a personality that every one admired her and they were very successful in business. They retired in the business in 19___.
